Former Beatle, John Lennon was shot by Mark David Chapman outside the home he shared with son Sean snd wife Yoko Ono, in New York, New York, 1980
Lennon had signed an autograph for his murderer earlier that day.

Rock guitarist Darrell Dimebag Abbott, shot by Nathan Gale in Columbus, Ohio.
Gale shot and killed three others at a Damageplan show that night. He injured a further seven. He was himself shot and killed by a Police Officer on the scene.

Hanoi Rocks drummer, Nicholas Razzle Dingley died as a result of a car wreck in Redondo Beach in 1984. The car he was traveling in was driven by Motley Crue singer Vince Neil (Wharton). Neil and Dingley were both intoxicated and were headed for a liquor store. Two occupants of the other car involved were seriously injured.
